LONDON: Arsenal completed the signing of Brazilian attacker Gabriel Jesus on a long-term contract for £45 million from Manchester City.
Following the signings of Brazilian striker Marquinhos, midfielder Fabio Vieira, and goalkeeper Matt Turner, the 25-year-old is manager Mikel Arteta's fourth edition of the summer.
"I believe 100% in Mikel," Jesus said. "I had a very good time with him before, he's a very good guy and a very good coach as well. He helped me a lot. We would always stick together after the training sessions and do some finishing or something.
"He's a very intelligent guy and was an amazing player, so if he knows something, he can teach me or the young players."
Jesus leaves City after five and a half years and will wear number nine for the Gunners.
He played in 236 games for them, scoring 95 goals and helping them win four Premier League championships, three League Cups, and the FA Cup.
After purchasing Norwegian attacker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2 million in June, the Premier League champions allowed Jesus to leave. Julian Alvarez, a young Argentine, is also anticipated to join the first-team squad.
Last season, Arteta depended on his younger players to score goals, with Bukayo Saka, 20, leading the team with 12 goals, and fellow England international Emile Smith Rowe, 21, contributing 11 more.
