MANCHESTER: Tyrell Malacia, a full-back, joined Manchester United from Feyenoord on a four-year deal through June 2026 with an additional year's option.

The 22-year-old cost 15 million euros, plus 2 million euros in add-ons.

Malacia, who played 136 times for Feyenoord, is the first newcomer since Erik ten Hag moved from Ajax to lead United.

"It's an incredible feeling to have joined," Malacia said.

"This is a new chapter for me, a new league with new teammates and a tremendous manager leading us.

"I know from playing against his teams in the Eredivisie, the qualities that he has and what he demands of his players.

"While I know that I am still young and will continue to develop, I can promise the United fans that I will leave everything on the pitch every time I pull on the red shirt."

Before United intervened, the left-back was in talks with French club Lyon.
